About Us

London Colney Islamic Centre

By the mercy of Allah SWT, London Colney Islamic Centre was established in 2010. As the years have passed, Alhumdullilah (praise be to Allah SWT) LCIC has grown from strength to strength providing facilities for the community as a whole, both locally and globally.

We are located on the High Street in London Colney and LCIC is one of the nearest masjids to the M25 and M1. We are located approx. 5 minutes from Junction 22 on the M25 and approx. 10 minutes from J7 on the M1.

LCIC provides praying facilities with congregational prayers for the 5 daily prayers as well as Jumuah (Friday) prayers. Jumuah always feel like such a special occasion at LCIC. A great opportunity to meet members of the community and at least one chance in the week for us to forget about our stresses and worries of life and concentrate on spiritual reflection. Before the prayer takes places, the Imaam provides a timely reminder and delivers lectures on various topics. Topics that have been included in the sermon have ranged from looking at what Islam’s says about family relationships and different ways of seeking Allah SWT’s pleasure to topics which are very current such as use of the internet and social networking. Alhamdulillah, we always leave the Islamic Centre having learnt a valuable lesson which we can implement within our lives.

For many, Jummah Salat tends to fall into their lunch break, we as an Islamic Centre aim to provide an opportunity for those attending to purchase a hot meal with all proceeds going to the Islamic Centre. We also sell halaal sweets at Jummah with all profits going to the Islamic Centre.

Other prayers also take place at LCIC throughout the year including Tarawih (evening prayers which are usually prayed throughout the holy month of Ramadhan) prayer and Janazah (funeral) prayers.

We at LCIC encourage opportunities for interfaith activities and have held events such as Community meals (iftaar) during Ramadhan and meetings with local neighbours and local authorities through Open Days.

Alhumdullilah we offer an array of services at LCIC which will be available to see in the pages throughout the website. This includes our very own library catering for people of all ages, as well as a range of activities on-site for our youth (PlayStation, Table tennis, Pool table etc)

In 2022, we have been incorporated as a CIO Foundation so that all the assets of the Charity are held under the LCIC name as part of our Good Governance.

We hope that LCIC will be able to provide for all your needs and that in Shaa Allah (if Allah wills) we will be able to build a closer relationship.

We would like to humbly request that you remember LCIC in your duas (prayers).
