‘Aa’ishah narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “The one who recites the Qur’aan and learns it by heart, will be with the noble righteous scribes (in Heaven) and the one who exerts himself to learn the Qur’aan by heart and recites it with great difficulty, will have a double reward.” [Bukhari and Muslim]
Alhumdullilah as the maktab has progressed we have been able to start a Hifz (memorisation of the Qur’an) school. To memorise the holy Qu’ran is a great accomplishment in Islam and the benefits of achieving such a feat are immense. Alhumdullilah this is the first of its kind in Hertfordshire. Previously, children from St Albans would have to travel to other parts of the country to attain this type of education, but now with the Hifz school at LCIC, it has provided a local alternative and reduced the stresses of having to live far away from home to attain this knowledge.
In Shaa Allah we will be having our first home grown hufaaz in the next few years.
The Hifz lessons take place Monday to Thursday from 5pm to 7pm.
